Employee Testimonials

“I have worked at Baptist Health for 43 years. I feel that this is what God meant for me to do with my life. It has been a great place to work. I’ve seen a lot of staff and residents with smiles on their faces because of what I had done for the. Making a difference in their lives and being their family when they had no one has been very rewarding to me. When I first came to Baptist I was a very shy person. I have learned so much and have grown so much.”
~ Barbara Bradt, Activities Director

“I began working at Baptist Health Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in July 2017 and have never looked back with any regret.  Baptist took a chance on me at one of the lowest points in my life and it has been a blessing ever since.

Every day I am given the opportunity to grow, learn new things and connect with wonderful people; coming to work is like going to my second family.  Some days are hard, but the challenges are new opportunities.  Through them and my time at Baptist I have been blessed to move up into a new position, expand on my skill set and form relationships with the residents.  I feel appreciated and have many friends here.

I am a pastoral counselor and ordained minister and while I am not working in that capacity at this time, I have been able to tap into that skill set.  While working on the unit I have been able to be with the residents and their families during the hard times and while the resident passed away.  This was an emotional time for all but I cherish the memories and the opportunity to be there when people needed me the most. My time here has taught me patience, to hold strong during the hard times and to love in a way that I never have.

Working at Baptist Health is a blessing, hard work, often fun and an opportunity I am so glad I was given.  I hope to keep growing with the organization, moving up and to retire from here one day.”

~ Barbara Cotugno, Nursing Administration Secretary

“I came to Baptist eleven years ago.  Hesitant to take the position, I thought, how depressing it would be to work in a nursing home.  As it turned out, this has been the most fulfilling, rewarding position that I have had in my 37 years in health care.  When I come into work each day there are residents that look forward to seeing and talking to me.  We smile, we laugh, we reminisce and we try to solve the world’s problems.  I hope for them that the day is just a little better because we talked.  I know mine was!  Administration is filled with caring individuals. They are competent, approachable and dedicated individuals. You will often times see the residents chatting with our administrator.  I consider staff, residents and volunteers my extended family.  I know that I have made friendships that will last my lifetime.
