Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Auxiliary

The purpose of the Auxiliary of Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is to render service to BHNRC, its residents, staff and community by providing support of programs, experiences and goods and services which will enhance the life of our residents.

The Auxiliary shall seek to provide programs and goods and services that promote the health and welfare of the residence community in accordance with objectives established by the governing board of BHNRC. Such programs include but are not limited to:

a. Providing programs, crafts and recreation
b. Providing funding for items which meet the purpose of the organization but are not available otherwise
c. Raising funds to help support the above.

President

NancyJane BattenNancyjane Batten, current Auxiliary President,  is new to the group as of 2014. She remembers the good care her mother received at Baptist during 2000 until her passing here in 2001. NJ is a retired nurse practitioner having served the veterans at Stratton VA Hospital for over 31 years. She enjoys gardening and is an avid tennis player thoroughly enjoying her retirement since 2012. She has been a volunteer at Baptist since 2013 serving in wheelchair transport. She also is a member of the Dorcas sewing group from East Glenville Community Church which supplies quilts, bibs, and walker bags to the Baptist residents.

 

Vice President

CarolynCarolyn Rynasko began volunteering at Baptist in 2005 and has been a member of the Auxiliary since 2009.  She appreciates the excellent care her mother received for many years at Baptist until her passing there in 2000.  Carolyn is past president of the Auxiliary and is responsible for supporting the current President and presiding over board meetings in her absence.  She takes part in the Auxiliary fundraisers and social events the Auxiliary sponsors for Baptist residents.  She is an avid gardner and member of the Corinth Garden Club. She and her husband Joe love the outdoors and had been active in a number of local hiking groups over the past years. Carolyn and Joe reside in Schenectady and enjoy summers at Sacandaga Lake.

 

Secretary

maryann-kosekMaryAnn Kosek has been an Auxiliary member since 2009.  She originally came to Baptist to help care for her mother who was a resident from 2006 to 2010.  In this post she is responsible for documenting the minutes of monthly business meetings and mailing them to active and inactive members.  MaryAnn takes part in many Auxiliary fundraisers and also plays music for our residents as a Volunteer of Baptist.  She lives in Guilderland with her husband Bill and they are both active in the community volunteering with the VFW and The Albany Pine Bush.  To contact MaryAnn with any questions regarding the Auxiliary please email MaryAnn at mak530@aol.com
