  • January 18 2010 - Mentors and Mentees from The Promises Mentoring Group, a division of The Boys & Girls Club of Schenectady recognized Martin Luther King Day and participated in a day of service to create Valentine's  Day Cards and decorations for all of the residents who live at Baptist.
  • February 2010 - Launch of the Senior Life Series presented by Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  "When Medications may Cause more Harm than Good" Featuring Dr. Kirk Panneton of CDPHP, specializing in Geriatric and Internal Medicine and Kathleen Bryant, RPh MS, Director of Pharmacy, Price Chopper Supermarkets.  Wednesday, February 24, 2010, 2PM to 4PM in The Main Dining Room at Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Complimentary Light Refreshments will be served.  Space is limited, Call (518) 370-4700 Ext. 146 to RSVP.  Programs are free to attend.

  • On Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 7:30PM, the Town Board of the Town of Glenville will hold a public hearing on a zoning map amendment application by Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for property located at 7 Swaggertown Road, Glenville.  The hearing will take place at 7:30PM at The Glenville  Municipal Center, 18 Glenridge Road, Glenville, NY.  This is an opportunity to come out and show your support for the change of zoning of the 48 acre parcel from Suburban Residential to Mixed Use Planned Development.  The purpose of the rezoning is to allow for development of a multi-phased project consisting of a three-story 126 unit assisted living center, a  three-story 120 unit independent living center, 36 independent living cottages, 21 greenhouse style nursing home units, an adult day care center and a four acre commercial pad.    If you'd like to attend and show your support for the project and re-zoning, Baptist Health will be providing transportation to and from The Glenville Municipal Center from Baptist's Health's current location at 297 No. Ballston Ave., Scotia.  Those who would like to take advantage of the transportation can meet at Baptist at 6PM, where a light meal of Pizza and beverages will be served before we proceed to the public meeting.   Preparing for a Wave of Boomers Press Release
